  • The Fund would consider raising funds in association with any other charity which has similar aims and objectives and which helps to improve the quality of life of a young disabled person aged 18 and under.
  • The Fund would consider raising funds in association with The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign to be used for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
  • The Fund will raise funds from individuals, businesses and other organisations in the UK.

About the Fund

The Christopher McCollum Fund was set up in 2008, to provide funds to help purchase a wheelchair, or other equipment for young people aged 18 or under who have a disability or illness and which may be life limited. The Constitution of the Fund permits it to raise funds and support these young people throughout the UK. They should have the opportunity to receive the best quality of equipment they need as soon as possible.

Our Logo

Our logo character was created in June 2008 by the pupils of Class H, Mitchell House School where Christopher attended.  They all have a disability and we are very pleased to have their involvement.  They decided to draw the character in the colours of Manchester United as they knew this was Christopher’s favourite team.  A big thank you to everyone including their teacher Anne Hewitt, Physio Carol McKay and Principal Pat Grindle MBE.

The photos below are of the Quiet Garden at Mitchell House School. This was built in memory of Christopher thanks to a donation from the Ulster Bank Group Staff Charity Fund. It was opened in March 2003 by “Rocket” Rod Stevens of the Belfast Giants Ice Hockey Team
